Despite the average of $3.33 per gallon spent on gas, and an average of $212 spent on roundtrip airfare, American’s have remained undeterred this holiday season. According to Travel Tracker AAA, about 4.5 million people hit the road or took to the skies for Thanksgiving. You can imagine what this is going to mean for Christmas.


American citizens have cut corners to make ends meet, but one thing more than 90 percent won’t skimp out on this year is holiday travel. Regardless of AAA’s estimation of 20 percent increase on airfare, 16 percent on gas, and even a slight raise on the price of Amtrak routes, people are continuing to take annual holiday trips.

What’s this mean for business?

For one thing, don’t cut corners on holiday marketing and services. The need for employee activity will be a vast one this season, so stay prepared.
